Day1, reykjavik

A day into my trip and I still feel like I'm dreaming.

The lack of sleep before my flight sure didn't help. I needed a two hour sleepwalk throughout Reykjavik just to find my hostel.

After dropping my bags at the hostel, the dream became brighter. The storefronts and houses in the city are each painted their own bright hue of blue, orange, yellow or green. Reykjavik is crowned with a white church tower from medieval times.

As I began to wake, I shopped idly for those extra items I had left in Minnesota. I began to meet the people of Reykjavik, who helped me find my way through broken English and sincere smiles.

By the day's end I found myself at the city's docks. I climbed down the rocks inhaling the sweet ocean air. Finally, as I watched sunset I began to realize how far I had traveled since I left Minneapolis.
